The Affordable Assisted Living Coalition (AALC) is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit membership organization made up of individuals and entities that develop and/or operate affordable assisted living projects in the State of Illinois’ Supportive Living Program (SLP).
The SLP offers an alternative to nursing home care for elderly and disabled citizens of Illinois who don’t need full nursing home services but can’t afford traditional assisted living programs. With the largest Medicaid assisted living waiver in the country, the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) can provide funds for services that are not routinely covered by Medicaid, such as medication management, personal care, homemaking, laundry, activities, and 24-hour supervision as needed.
AALC strongly believes every person who needs it, regardless of income, deserves high quality assisted living. This belief drives our efforts to promote the SLP and ensure that our member communities have the support they need to provide our seniors and disabled with affordable health care and a warm and cozy place to call home.
