Education & Training

The success of the Supportive Living Program (SLP) depends on the knowledge and competence of staff within each community. AALC periodically offers continuing education courses and other training opportunities for professionals involved in SLP.

In partnership with Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine, AALC hosts training programs that awards continuing education credits for social workers, professional/clinical counselors, clinical psychologists, nursing home administrators, and dietitian/nutrition counselors.

Recent topics include:

  • Infectious disease mitigation and prevention
  • Marketing strategies and techniques in the era of COVID-19
  • Ethics for health care leaders
  • Medicaid and managed care organizations (MCOs)
